What is Tokyo International Friends & Events?

Tokyo International Friends & Events (TIFE) is a Tokyo-based international community that connects locals, expats, and travelers through events like language exchanges, parties, trips, workshops, and cultural activities.

Who can join your events?

Everyone is welcome — expats, locals, students, and tourists! No membership fees or age limits. Just check our event calendar and join any activity you like.

How can I join an event?

You can join directly through our event calendar on the website, our Meetup group, or message us via Instagram or LINE for quick registration.

Do you host events in English or Japanese?

Most of our events are bilingual (English and Japanese). Some language exchanges focus on specific languages like Spanish, French, or Chinese.

Where are the events held?

Most events take place in Shinjuku, Shibuya, or Asakusa areas, but we also organize trips and cultural experiences across Japan.

■【Why we host Badminton Games?】

Since we have received many requests about hosting Badminton Games, we have decided to host it regulraly.
The fee is 2,000yen/session/player and it is collected before the start of the session.
The amount collected goes to pay for the court rent (between 15,000yen-25,000yen), decent brand shuttlecocks, transportation allowance, meals and drinks allowance, time and work rendered by the organizer, the person in-charge of the game, the person that books the court (the most time consuming and difficult part), and other miscellaneous expenses.
We host Badminton Games to provide good service for our community, so everyone gets a chance to play Badmiton once a while.
We discourage you from joining if you have any issue with the game fee.
This is the only way we can keep the club running and motivate the good individuals involve in running the sessions and booking the courts.
