Join TIFE’s Halloween Gathering 2026, one of our biggest international social events of the season, bringing together expats, travelers, international residents and Japanese locals in Tokyo.
👻 Coming alone? Perfect. Many people attend our events solo. Our goal is to make it easy to meet people naturally and leave knowing more people than when you arrived.
🎭 HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST Dress scary, funny, creative, cute, ridiculous—or come as your favorite character. Costumes are encouraged, but you can still join without one. We have welcomed members from 73+ countries, and 50+ people are expected for this Halloween edition.

❓ QUICK ANSWERS Can I come alone? Yes. Many participants come alone, including first-time attendees. Do I need to wear a costume? Costumes are encouraged, especially if you want to join the costume contest, but they are not mandatory. Can tourists join? Yes. Travelers and visitors to Tokyo are welcome. Can Japanese people join? Yes. This event is for both Japanese and international participants. Do I need to speak English? No. Both Japanese and English are used throughout our community. Is this a language exchange? The main focus is Halloween, socializing and making friends, but naturally you’ll meet people speaking Japanese, English and other languages. Age requirement? This event is 20+. Smoking? The main event space is non-smoking. The venue has a designated smoking booth.
